Module 3

In this module, I learned how to visualize my data through different methods - P5json (Blazeface) and 3D Printing. Throughout the weekly activities, I explored a series of formstorming iterations to experiment with how data can shape form and meaning. By the end of this process, I selected a facial-tracking data portrait as my reflexive selfie design because I prefer working digitally and enjoy exploring how facial-traking can represent my data.

Activity 1

Testing facial tracking using example code The process of me drawing my selfie using Designer Giorgia Lupi's method, the dots reflect my age Lines with the color corresponding with the continent I born and live at the moment. I tend to see the glass as half-full I'm a night owl My typical day Do I sing in the shower? -I do I'm a cat person 1 dot means I have one cat I use iPhone I keep my phone within arm reach at night I prefer pen I'm a introvert person I tend to stay at home to spend my weekends I will bring one closest friend on vacation My finished data portrait Testing my data portrait with Blazeface facial tracking I adjusted the canvas size of some images, to test how different they gonna looks like The result after the size adjustion I exploreed the code where it changes liveliness, I changed to *10 Testing how the change of liveliness code affect the tracking, it moves much faster After I looked up step 4, I wanted to explore more about the form of my data. Here's the data of my screen time The process of making my visualized data, the patterns represent the screen time of sunday and monday The finished image for my screen time data. The line means date, the dots means the spend time of different type of apps: Social, Entertainment, Productivity & Finance Bring my Screen Time data into code

This one is failed, the face is distorted I re-scanned this object, this time it looks better. 3D scanning activity object 4 - figure Cropped 3D scanning file Cropped 3D scanning file. Even though I tried scanning twice, I didn't get a good result for this one. I think this is caused by the transparent bracket. Using Meshmixer to adjust and repair my plush model I put my repaired model into Cinema4D and rendered it I reduced the mesh of my model Adding texture to the bottom of the model, where it's not fully scanned. I got rid of the tag on the back of the plush. It looks a bit off, but it's okay. After I baked my texture, and exported my OBJ file. I put them in 3D viewer. Final Project 3 Design

My final design is a facial-tracking data portrait that transforms my weekly screen-time into a cosmic map. Each orbit represents a day, and each planet reflects an app category shaped by its duration and rhythm.
